PROVO — With letter-of-intent day less than a week away, BYU has received verbal commitments from a pair of defensive backs/receivers.

Aaron Francisco, a 6-foot-3, 190-pounder from Kahuku High in Hawaii, and David Tafuna, a 6-2, 195-pounder from Mesa High in Arizona, say they are planning to sign with the Cougars on Feb. 7.

Tafuna is the cousin of former BYU kick-return star Vai Sikahema.

Meanwhile, BYU is locked in a recruiting battle with UCLA for a couple of prized defensive line prospects.
