Ellis Brown Hale, age 83, passed away on February 1, 2001 in Taylorsville, Utah.

Born to William Whittle and Ella Brown Hale on March 17, 1917 in Afton, Wyoming. Married Lavina Ione Weidow on January 20, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS church and held various callings including a temple worker. Ellis was an avid gardener, and a World War II Army Veteran, Signal Corp.

He is survived by three sons, Charles Hale; Don and wife, Jackie Hale; and Arlen Hale; and daughter-in-law, Kay; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister Verlene Yancey. Preceded in death by his wife, Lavina; two sons, Roger; and Richard.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, at the West Valley 2nd Ward, 2820 West 3590 South, at 12 noon. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday February 2 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and on Saturday at the church from 11-11:45 a.m.
