Our mother Cornelia Anthonia Visser van Vemde, has passed on to a life free from earthly care. We here will miss her more than we can say.
She was born on 2 Dec. 1921 in Amsterdam, Holland, to Jan Visser and Anthonia Jacomina Polder-man. She was the second child. She was married to our father, Egbert van Vemde, on 7 Aug. 1940 in Amsterdam. He preceded her in death in 1981.
They followed their LDS religious convictions and emigrated from Holland to Utah in 1956, leaving many loving family members and friends.
She was greatly appreciated for her motherly care and watchful eye. Mother was master of all kinds of sewing and handwork and also grew the most beautiful houseplants in the state! She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the end.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ann (Bill) Moore, Mrs. Arja (Gordon) Warren, Mrs. Elaine (Rex) Peterson. She has 16 1/2
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and has 10 living brothers and sisters in the Netherlands.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment: Salt Lake City, Cemetery.
Mother, we love you. Your daughters, Ann, Arja and Elaine. Until we meet again.
