Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all, age 96, died January 31, 2001 5 hours short of her 97th birthday in Haley, Idaho.

Born February 1, 1904 in Escalante, Utah to Charles Joseph and Mable Baker Haycock. Married Ralph Gibbs Smith on June 4, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They resided a short time in Provo, then moved to Salt Lake City. Ralph died on April 12, 1980.

Geneva continued her love of work at ZCMI downtown store where she had worked since May 20, 1939. After 29 years of service she retired at age 65. The next day, ZCMI called her back to work, where she stayed part time until the age of 90 1/2 . She was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by children, Colleen (James M.) Christensen, Menlo Park, CA; John "Jack" (Sue Taylor) Smith, Sun Valley, Idaho. Her daughter Shirley (William I. Schmidt) died December 6, 1986. Also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Monita Hair, Nell Brain, Shirley Norton and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional loving care given by the Sarah Daft Home, Salt Lake City, Utah and Blane Manor, Haley, Idaho. She was loved by all.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, February 5, 2001 at 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends and family one hour prior services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
