The Humane Society of Utah is overrun with puppies and is offering the animals for adoption at half the regular price until March 1.
"Although puppy season is getting ready to start, we're still surprised to see so many of them already," Gene Baierschmidt, executive director of the Humane Society, said. "But for everyone who wisely waited until the excitement of the holidays settled down before getting a new pet, the timing couldn't be better."
The regular adoption fee for canines is $85 but is reduced to $42.50 for the rest of the month.
The Humane Society is at 4242 S. 300 West and is open weekdays from noon until 8 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.
