Grandpa Tiger, 91, passed away at his home February 2, 2001.
He was born July 19, 1909 in Chloride, Arizona Territory to John G. Tracy and Florence Bleakman Tracy. He married Ruth Anna Inglesby March 26, 1961.
Bernard was a pipe contractor and a rancher in Indio, CA until he moved to Utah in 1949. He operated a general store, restaurant and motel in Torrey, UT until joining the National Park Service in 1964. He began his career with the park service in the maintenance department and retired in 1980 as Superintendent of Pipe Springs National Monument. His knowledge of building and maintenance allowed Hubble Trading Post in Arizona and Pipe Springs to be restored and preserved for future generations to enjoy. Bernard was a rock hound and his lapidary skills in making beautiful stone jewelry was unsurpassed. He and Ruth lived in Moccasin, AZ during their retirement until moving to Salt Lake City in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, stepdaughter and stepson, Kay (Boyd) Kenner and Bill (Annette) Inglesby; five grandsons; and 11 great-grandchildren. A grandson, Randy Kenner preceded him in death.
Services will be Mon. Feb 5, 2001, 1 p.m. at Cottonwood Mortuary Chapel, 4670 Highland Dr. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park Cemetery.
