Dad passed away at age 84 on February 7, 2001.

Born December 25, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Herman F. Hottinger and Myrl H. Dyer, the third of six children. Raised lovingly by Lily May Shore Hottinger after the death of his mother. Baptized in the LDS Church. Graduated from East High School in 1934. Married Donna E. Brown in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1941. She preceded him in death March 3, 1993.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an MP on the USS Sea Devil transferring prisoners of war. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1977. Dad loved his mountain cabin which he built at Parley's Summit/Jeremy Ranch, 1969.

Survived by his son, Ralph D. Hottinger (Jean) of Park City, Utah, two granddaughters, one grandson, two great-grandsons, and a great-granddaughter expected in April. He is also survived by his sisters,

Bernice Evans, and Jan Jenkel, both of Bountiful, Utah. Preceded in death by parents, brother, William, sisters, Donna Smolka and Verna Andrew.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 9, 2001 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive.

Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South. Following the service there will be a gathering for friends and family at the Monument Park 20th Ward, 2795 East Crestview Drive (900 South).
