Horse adoption set

The public can now adopt horses from the Sulphur Herd, which some say originated from the stock brought to Utah by the Spanish in the 1600s.

The Bureau of Land Management will hold a public adoption hearing March 16 and 17 at Cedar City's Washington County Regional Park.

Registration will start at 7 a.m. and the competitive adoption will begin at 9 a.m. The base fee is $125.
