Fred W. Rockwood, first counselor in the Cincinnati Ohio Stake presidency, has moved into the positions of president and chief executive officer of Hillenbrand Industries in Batesville, Ind. He is the first CEO of the 100-year-old company outside the Hillenbrand family. The company with revenues of $2 billion a year deals in funeral and health care products..


Nancy Shipley Allen of the Heyburn 1st Ward, Rupert Idaho West Stake, celebrated her 101st birthday on February 19 in Ogden, Utah. She was born in Ogden to Moronia and Hannah Shipley. She married John Dean Allen, whom she met when they were in the third grade together, and they had two daughters. Sister Allen has six grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Ruby Coffman of the Garden Grove 6th Ward, Garden Grove California Stake, celebrated her 101st birthday on March 5. She was born in Kansas and joined the Church in Tucson, Ariz. She has one son, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

H. Emily Hill Lynn of the Hillcrest Ward, Mesa Arizona Citrus Heights Stake, celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 25. She was born in North Ogden, Utah, to Edwin C. and Mary Hill. She has been widowed three times, having been married to John Arthur Olsen, Joseph Johnson and Robert Lynn. She has three children, six grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.


Law enforcement

Ronald Nelson of the Buttes Vista Ward, Yuba City California Stake, has been named "Officer of the Year" for the Yuba-Sutter California Highway Patrol area. The Idaho native has been with the CHP for 12 years.
