2A boys basketball — Saturday scores

Final-round games in the 2A high school boys state basketball tournament being played Saturday at Southern Utah University:

For 5th and 6th places: North Sevier 54, Millard 44, OT

The Wolves recovered from their opening-round loss to take fifth place with the 10-point win over Millard.

Talin Zimmer led North Sevier with 27 points and Seth Hallows had 11,

while Matt Holt led Millard with 19 points.

The Wolves hit 13-of-14 foul shots in the overtime to account for all of

their scoring.

For 3rd and 4th places: Enterprise 62, Gunnison 60

Enterprise's Rance Pickering had a rebound and putback at the buzzer to lift the Wolves past the Bulldogs for third.

Riley Phelps led four Enterprise players that scored in double figures

with 17 points, while Pickering, Tim Shurtliff and Ryan Elster had 12, 12

and 10 points each.

Aaron Harward led Gunnison with 19 points and Jordan Hill had 14.

Enterprise coach Gordon Dotson didn't attend Saturday's game because he

drew a one-game suspension for kicking in a door after Friday's loss to

Manti.

Championship game: South Sevier 49, Manti 48

Aaron Owens hit a 3-foot bank shot at the buzzer to lift the Rams to their second-straight 2A title.

He finished with 10 points as did Jaron Maynes. Reggie Parsons led South

Sevier with 14 points.

Cameron Clark led the Templars with 14 and Scott Christensen and Kyle

Crouch had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
