Jim Edwards is the newly appointed director and chief curator of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University. He was selected on Jan. 2.
A native of California, Edwards came to Utah from Texas, where he was the Weil Gallery Director at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
During his first year at Utah State, Edwards hopes to get to know the university, the community and the museum's collection better.
"When I got into the collection, saw what was there, it was exciting for me," he said.
Edwards also wants to further develop the museum's involvement with the academic programs of the university, while helping the students and local residents to better appreciate art.
Concerning his new position, Edwards said he loves Utah and feels as if he has "come home."
