Dr. John C. Carey, professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine, has been named editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Medical Genetics. He will continue his clinical work and research.
The journal is the most widely read and cited genetics journal involving patient care in North America and is second in the world, he said. It is published 32 times a year, with 28 regular issues and four seminar issues.
Dr. John M. Opitz, professor of pediatrics and founding editor, will become editor-in-chief emeritus. Other staffers will retain their positions.
