Tips lead to the arrest of suspected meth dealer

A man suspected of dealing methamphetamine was taken into custody early Thursday morning following tips by residents.

Deputies from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Neighborhood Narcotics Unit served a search warrant early that morning at a house near 2700 South and 8600 West.

A man in his 40s who was on federal probation was taken into custody after deputies found a small amount of meth, Sgt. Darren Carr said.

Evidence of drugs was found in the children's bedroom. A boy and a girl, ages 8 and 9, lived in the house, Carr said.

Neighbors contacted drug agents and told them about suspicious activities at the man's house. Undercover agents were able to later buy drugs at the home, Carr said.
