GOOD INNS IN SMALL PACKAGES? Maybe so, at least according to Sunset Magazine. The publication recently named the West's Best Small Inns. With a few exceptions, their capacity ranged from 10 to 30 guest rooms. One of the winners in the Rocky Mountain region is Moab's Sorrel River Ranch Resort. Suites include a kitchenette and sitting area with a gas-log fireplace. The outdoor swimming pool and a barn, where you can board your own horse, mean you don't have to leave the 240-acre property to have fun. But you might be depriving yourself of some of the West's best scenery since the ranch is near Arches National Park.

Another property that got a thumbs up: Knob Hill Inn in Ketchum, Idaho, which, according to the magazine has sumptuously furnished rooms and marble baths. Web site: www.sorrelriver.com; www.knobhill.com

OOPS! Our story a couple of weeks ago about Disney's California Adventure, the new theme park next to Disneyland, included an incorrect phone number for the Walt Disney Travel Co. If you want information about package vacations that include accommodations and admission to both parks, call 1-714-520-5050, or contact your travel agent.
