Afterthoughts

Sarah Ferguson, aka the Duchess of York, is popping up frequently in TV commercials and print ads hawking an array of products. There's no recession at Fergie Inc. Picture Joan Rivers in a rented tiara.

First, Weight Watchers then an investment company and the latest—the duchess appears in stores autographing Wedgwood china plates. I guess bubble gum cards would be frightfully tacky.

In the investment ad, Fergie warns that if your fairy-tale marriage to Prince Charming doesn't work out—get it?—you'll need financial security. Especially if you broke some of that Wedgwood crockery over the prince's head.

What's next for Fergie? Hard to say. I know Avon doesn't go door-to-door anymore.
