Many female workers felled by motion injuries

According to a study by the AFL-CIO, women make up 46 percent of the work force and 33 percent of those injured at work, yet they account for 64 percent of the repetitive motion injuries that result in lost time at work.

Sprains/strains, carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis account for more than half the injuries to women. Nurses' aides and registered nurses are the top two most risky occupations for women, the study says.
