Edna Darlene Moore Birk, 96, of North Center St. in American Fork, died of natural causes on March 4, 2001, in a Beehive Home Assisted Living Facility.
She was born February 28, 1905, in Payson, Utah, to George Barton Moore and Alcesta Adelia Lewis Moore. She married Louis Neldon Birk of American Fork October 5, 1922, in Provo.
Following the death of her husband in 1949, she managed Mary Jean's, a ladies specialty clothing shop in American Fork until retiring in 1980.
Her daughter, Betty, died in 1981. Survivors are sons Jack Neldon (Sally) Birk, Duluth, MN; Robert Alan (Margaret) Birk, Belvedore, CA; daughter, Shirley (James) Zenith, Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Judith (Robert) Kridle, Oakland, CA; Peggy Birk, Minneapolis, MN; Marianne (Michael) Kenfield, Edina, MN; Kathy (Steve) Christensen, Sandy, UT; Lewis (Connie) May, Hyrum, UT; Robert Zenith, Las Vegas, NV; Richard Zenith, Lisbon, Portugal; and great-grandchildren, Lars and Megan Leafblad; Katie and Andrew Kenfield; Liliana Kridle; Robert, Adam, Aaron, and Danielle May; and Parish and Brett Posselli.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 19, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Visitations with family and friends will be held at the mortuary Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
