Obituary: Steve "Trig" Bilanzich

Steve "Trig" Bilanzich, age 76, passed away on March 14, 2001 at his home.

Born August 8, 1924 in Murray, Utah to Mike Bilanzich and Josephine Strugar. Married Dolores Vaccaro on Oct. 22, 1951. She preceded him in death on December 14, 1983.

He was a veteran of World War II, Korean conflict, U.S. Navy. He worked for Kennecott Copper and Christensen Diamond Products. Past president of Salt Lake County Fish and Game Association. Game Warden for Salt Lake County. He enjoyed working in his yard, garden and woodworking. After retiring, he took up and looked forward to golfing with his friends every week. He enjoyed his brothers, they bowled together, fished together and enjoyed each others company. He looked forward to his beloved brother Rudy's frequent visits, where they would talk for hours on end. He took loving care of his wife Dolores through her illness and death. He was a proud and concerned father and grandfather. He loved being able to help others. He will be missed.

Survived by his daughters, Sherrie Bilanzich Knuth (Rick), Cindy Bilanzich Erickson (Kent);grandsons, Kody Erickson, Charlie Knuth, Travis Erickson, Alex Knuth, Dylan Erickson; brothers, Rudy Bilanzich (Donna), Bill Bilanzich (Rose); sister, Helen Jensen (Francis). Preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers: Mike, John, Tony, George, and Frank, sisters: Emma and Annie.

Funeral services Monday, March 19, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., where friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment Murray City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the special people in his life especially Rudy and Donna Bilanzich, Mary Coccimiligo and Anne Holmes.
