Obituary: Milton A. Peterson

Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Milton Alonzo "Lefty" Peterson, age 81, died March 16, 2001 in Provo, Utah.

He was born March 12, 1920 in Salina, Utah, a son of Alonzo and Thuressa Gates Peterson. He married Leora Simpson, September 25, 1945 and their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on September 25, 1993. Lefty was a life long resident of Salina. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He was an active member of the Salina American Legion Post #36. Lefty was a farmer and also worked at Georgia Pacific as an inspector. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife of Salina; children: SusAnn and Chad Beach of Salina; Loretta and Jan Quarnberg of Annabella; Eugene Milton Peterson of Salina; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister: Grace and George Hardinger of Roosevelt. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gay and her husband, Paul Ivie; a brother Denzel and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 19, 2001 at 12 noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Sunday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and at the stake center on Monday from 10:00 - 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Eastside Cemetery
