Temple building continues to move forward at a rapid pace. President Gordon B. Hinckley will dedicate the Church's 103rd temple, the Montevideo Uruguay Temple, on Sunday, March 18.
In addition, the First Presidency has announced the open house and dedication dates for the Perth Australia Temple. The temple will be open to the public April 28-May 12, 2001, except on Sundays, April 29 and May 6, 2001. The temple will be dedicated in four sessions on Sunday, May 20, 2001, and will open for ordinance work Monday, May 21.
Temple dedication dates have also been announced for the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple (April 22, 2001) and the Guadalajara Mexico Temple (April 29, 2001). When these are dedicated, the Church will have 106 temples.
Besides these temples, also under construction are the Asuncion Paraguay, Campinas Brazil, Columbia River Washington, Lubbock Texas, Monterrey Mexico, Nauvoo Illinois and Snowflake Arizona temples.
Temples awaiting construction include the Brisbane Australia, Aba Nigeria, Accra Ghana, Copenhagen Denmark, Helsinki Finland, Kiev (Kyiv) Ukraine, Harrison New York and The Hague Netherlands temples. Progress has been made toward construction with several of these and groundbreakings will be scheduled at the appropriate times for each.
