A veteran officer has been chosen to head the state Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division.
Capt. Kent Jorgensen, deputy director since 1994, takes over for Scott Duncan, who left to become superintendent of the Utah Highway Patrol.
The division regulates the auto industry and investigates vehicle-related crime as part of the Utah State Tax Commission.
Jorgensen has worked in the division for 32 years, investigating motor vehicle fraud and heading an undercover unit.
