LeGrand Meyer Bernards, age 79, passed away March 15, 2001 in Provo, Utah.
Born July 8, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gerardus Cornelius Bernards and Gerritje Meijer Bernards. Married Myrtle Esther Weidner in the Salt Lake Temple on April 3, 1944. He was a member of the LDS Church, a graduate of South High School and received his Master Craftsman Printing Certificate.
His priority and first love were his wife
and family. Always willing to help a neighbor or friend and recognized for his Christian service. He was a printer by trade and worked for Br
igham Young University and various companies in California. He was a veteran of World War II and served an LDS Japanese mission to the Hawaiian Islands, 1941-44.
He is survived by his children, Dennis (Patience) Bernards, Margaret (Tracy) Thomson, Lani (David) Braithwaite and Katherine (Karl) Goodman; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and sister, Anita Kloezeman. Preceded in death by his wife; one brother, John and one sister, Minnie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 12 noon at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where family and friends may call 10:45-11:45 a.m., prior to services.
Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
