Obituary: Clyde Thomas Watkins

Clyde Thomas Watkins, 85, died March 18, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born January 28, 1916 in Nephi, Utah to Francis David and Eva Dell Carter Watkins. Married Florence Leola Amundsen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 21, 1934. She preceded him in death May 8, 1992.

He and his wife were both active members of the LDS Church. They served a mission to the Washington, D.C. Temple and also served in the Jordan River Temple. He was an active Scouter and received the Silver Bee award. He enjoyed working with wood and made children's toys.

Survived by children, David (Barbara) Watkins, Toquerville; Dixie (Mel) Foote, Layton; Diana (Rick) Hawkes, Magna; Dale (Sandra) Watkins, Francis; Darlene (Dave) Halladay, West Valley City; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jay and Cal; and sisters, Venice and Juanita.

Funeral services Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Thursday 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Interment, Crescent Cemetery.
