BYU students will help with electronic tax filing

PROVO — Want a faster tax refund?

Students studying accounting at BYU will help file taxes electronically, which typically cuts the wait for a refund by as much as two weeks. The service is free to the public.

About 200 student volunteers are trained to use TaxWise, an electronic filing software.

Help will be available until March 30 in the Tanner Building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

About 5,000 people use the service each year, making it one of the largest volunteer tax help centers in the country.
