A dear angel in our life, Clara Samuelson Anderson peacefully passed away on March 19, 2001 at the age of 90 in a Salt Lake City Hospital.
Born on April 24, 1910 to Hilge L. and Grace Angell Samuelson. She was educated in the Salt Lake public schools and LDS Business College. Later in her life on June 14, 1934 she married her sweetheart LeGrande Winston Anderson (Andy) in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared 50 years of their life together. She told us many stories of playing the organ at the Provo Tabernacle and for her ward when she was young. This led to her many callings as organist for the Salt Lake Highland Park Ward, Provo 4th and 8th wards, Timpanogos Orem 11th Ward and the Sharon Stake. She also served two years in the Orem 11th Ward Relief Society Presidency. In this life of service she found time for her passions of handwork and travel with her husband as escorts for the Provo Senior Citizens.
Clara loved being a Pink Lady at the Utah Valley Hospital for over 40 years. Of all her callings and service her favorite was to play beautiful organ and piano duets with her dear friend Geneva Olsen.
Clara is survived by her daughter Janet (Carleton) Whelchel of Palmdale, CA, and a son Gary (JoAnn ) of West Valley, UT, as well as 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous, much loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son, two brothers and her parents.
The family would like to thank Brenda for her loving service she gave in the final months of Clara's life.
