Obituary: Lila Strong Knight

Lila Strong Knight, 89, passed away March 20, 2001.

Born March 14, 1912 in Cowley, Wy-oming, daughter of Wallace and Savella Hobson Strong. She graduated from LDS High School and worked as a dental assistant. Married Keith L. Knight May 16, 1934; later di-vorced. Member of the LDS Church. She was a "Pink Lady" at the LDS Hospital and a volunteer at the LDS Church Commu-nications Department. Member of the Women's Auxiliary for Salt Lake Realtors and of the Symphony Guild. Lila was very patriotic and worked on many drives during World War II for which she was given an award by the governor. She enjoyed golfing, reading, and was famous for her cooking skills. We will miss her delightful sense of humor and loving concern for every member of her family.

Survived by children, Marlene (Westley C.) Riggs, Mesa, Arizona; K. Ronald (Elaine) Knight, Steven L. Knight, Susan K. Bennett, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren. Her family and home were her first priorities.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for those who cared for our mother at Alta Ridge Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and

Saturday, 9-9:45 a.m.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
