FARR WEST<! >
On March 20, 2001, Neva Parker Simonsen, in answer to a higher calling, returned to our Heavenly Father.
Neva was born October 11, 1916, in Bennion, Utah, to Frank S. Parker and Josephine Mauchley. She married Karl M. Simonsen on March 23, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Karl; their son, Jeff (Christa) Simonsen; their daughters, Ellen (George) Plummer, and Julie Wynn; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Neva will also be missed by her brother, Shirley Parker; and sisters, Alice Wood and Zelpha Simons.
Neva was a consummate musician, well-known for her beautiful piano music, her talent in accompanying the "All Faces West Pageant," her direction of the "Ogden Stake Singing Mothers," and her kind teaching of hundreds of piano students.
Her passions were her faith, family, music, traveling, and the square dancing that she and Karl did for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Parker; and one granddaughter, Tobi Alverson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
