He made it!
Ted has renewed his love and companionship with his beloved wife, Florice H. Thomas, and parents John Banks and Kate Tolhurst Thomas, along with Otis A. and Velma Miner Hjorth, James and Lois Miller, Paul Hjorth and Anna Pexton on March 20, 2001. He bids a tearful but joyous farewell for a time to Terry and Kelly Thomas (Jeremy, Cary, Sydney, Camille, Kaleb Anthony, Sienna, and Averi); Natalie McCoy (Harmonie, Sam and Verena, Greg); Kathryn Thomas; Dana and Blaine Montag (Bobby Sue, John, Gerald, Jeremiah and Winifred); Melissa and Rick Norman, (Shanelle, Karras, and Candice Smith, Kira, Kelton and Jessika Norman); Vaughn and Cari Thomas (Andrew, Ryan, and Brandon); William and Carolyn Thomas; J. Alan and Reva Thomas; Don and Merla Thomas; Hugh and Erma Hjorth; Carlos and Louis Hjorth; Mamie Hjorth; and Dick Pexton. Along with many other dear friends and family. Of special note are Dr. Kang, the nephrologist staff and friends at Provo Dialysis Center; VA doctors, nurses, and staff; Richard Wiles, attentive care givers including the Grow, Blais, and Smith families who lovingly cared for his needs and wishes to remain in his home.
Many know of his extended hand of fellowship. He always had time to talk and share a joke or a story. "People" was his business in all parts of his life.
He was an Optician, salesman, and an employee of the Utah County Recorder Office. He endured complications from Diabetes and Parkinson disease. We will miss his quick wit, humor and telephone calls.
Flowers and singing with the ward choir and congregational hymns, and listening to great voices and music brought him much enjoyment and peace. He is High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Service outside his family and friends includes a Mission to the South Atlanta States, military duty in the Korean conflict, LDS youth organizations, member of the Sharon West Quorum of Seventy, Counselor in Bishoprics, High Councilor, and other church and community services.
