More than 2 feet of new snow at Sunday River, Maine, the past 24 hours threw a wet blanket on Friday's parallel giant slalom at the U.S. Snowboard Championships.

The race was rescheduled for Saturday because of too much snow on the course. The halfpipe competition will also take place Saturday, though training and qualification times will be pushed back.

The western Maine ski resort, which was plagued by a power outage Friday morning, expects another 3 to 6 inches of snow. The spring storm has dumped wet snow and rain throughout New England since early Thursday.
