Zions Bank's Women's Financial Group was named "Women in Business Advocate of the Year for 2001" Wednesday by the Utah District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Zions and other Small Business Week award winners in Utah will be honored at an awards luncheon May 14.
The award recognizes businesses and individuals that have "fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of women's business ownership," said Stan Nakano, director of the Utah SBA office.
Nakano said Zions Bank has been a leader in reaching out to women business owners and helping them find working capital since the group was launched in 1997.
Zions' Women's Financial Group has also been selected as the SBA's Region 8 "Women in Business Advocate of the year," which includes Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Zions Bank is ranked as the top provider of SBA government-guaranteed loans in Utah in both number of loans and dollar volume of loans.
