Ruby C. Minchey Sherman, age 86, passed away Mar. 21, 2001. She was born July 23, 1914 in Emery, UT. to Erastus J. and Katherine Christian-sen. She married Lorin J. Minchey on Feb. 14, 1934. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Ruby was a lifelong resident of Emery, the place she loved to be. She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has held numerous positions. She has served three missions, one in Atlanta, GA. and two at the Manti Temple.
She was a very talented and accomplished woman. No task was too big for her to handle and she always completed every task to perfection. Ruby is known for her hard working ethics. Her home was her castle and her yard was meticulously groomed with something always in bloom in her flower gardens. Her kitchen was always warm with the smell of homemade cooking and if you stopped by at mealtime you were always expected to eat.
She lived her life as an example and was always an inspiration to everyone she knew.
We will miss her.
A viewing will be held at the Emery LDS Chapel on Sat. March 24th from noon - 1:45 p.m. Funeral services will then be held at the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Emery City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale.
