WEST VALLEY CITY — The Utah Grizzlies are picking a pretty good time to get hot. Question is: Can they keep it up?

The answer to that will decide if they make the playoffs, or if they miss out in their first year as an affiliate of the Dallas Stars.

Utah has some ground to make up to avoid missing out on postseason play for only the second time. The Grizz are three points out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Interestingly, they are also only six points out of first place in the tight-and-wild West.

Good news for the Grizz is that the IHL schedule-maker slated them to play nine of their final 11 games at the E Center, beginning with a pair of home contests against the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight and Saturday (both 7:30 p.m. face-offs).

The Grizz have notched five of six possible points in three straight games against the Manitoba Moose. They are facing a pretty hot team in the Cyclones, though. Cincy is 6-1-3 in its last 10 games and has moved into second place in the Eastern Conference.
