Lawyers for Salt Lake bid leaders Tom Welch and Dave Johnson have asked a federal magistrate to reconsider a scheduled June 1 start date in the Olympic bribery trial, according to the Associated Press.
The attorneys asked U.S. Magistrate Ronald Boyce to delay the trial until September, so they can do more preparation for their case.
That could mean that if the trial lasts for several months, it would coincide with the promotion of the Olympic torch run in December.
