More than 400,000 Utahns have $70 million worth of unclaimed money held by the state Treasurer's Office Division of Unclaimed Property.
The office recently announced its new Web site that allows residents to see if they are one of the many with money waiting for them in the state coffers. At www.eutah.org, Utah residents can not only search for their names but start the claims process as well.
Unclaimed property includes money or other assets thought to be lost or abandoned. It includes checking accounts, overpayments, certificates of deposit, gift certificates, unpaid wages and uncashed checks. It does not include real estate.
