Three Utah counties have received a federal grant to battle methamphetamine production and use.

The U.S. Department of Justice awarded Iron, Washington and Kane counties $798,000 to assist local law enforcement efforts.

"This is a shot in the arm to local law enforcement. Our objective is to wage war with methamphetamines, and this needed money, puts some awesome firepower into our already dedicated arsenal," Iron County Sheriff David Benson said.
