TOOELE — Utah Department of Transportation's plans to begin removal of old canal pipe along U-36 has been moved up a week to April 7 to accommodate holiday travel.

UDOT officials say the work will take place during daylight hours and is in addition to the widening work already in progress. The weekend work is expected to minimize impact to commuters.

Pipe removal is anticipated to take two to four days.
