Attorneys on both sides of the legal challenge of an initiative on last year's ballot have asked that the Utah Supreme Court clarify some legal questions.

Last week U.S. District Judge Dee Benson granted a temporary restraining order, halting the implementation of Initiative B. The measure would amend the state's laws on handling assets seized by law enforcement.

In briefs filed Friday, the attorneys asked the judge not to take any further action on the matter until the high court could certify "how Initiative B is to be construed."
