- Phyllis Smith Howlett, 87, our loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 23, 2001 in Draper, Utah.
She was born March 15, 1914 in Riverdale, ID to Rob-ert Lauritz and Doris Bennett Smith. On June 8, 1932, she married Harold How-lett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harold preceded her in death May 4, 1992. Phyllis worked along-side her husband for many years in their poultry farming and egg business. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society and Primary president as well as in numerous other callings. She enjoyed sewing, especially for her grandchildren and loved to go fishing with her grandkids.
Survivors: sons, Dale (Denece), Draper, Duane (Martha), Mosida, UT, Gary (Shirley), Las Vegas, NV; 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchil-dren; brothers and sisters, Robert (Luana), Alpine, Devar (Muriel), Kay (Norma), Rayola (Ron) Allen, all Draper, June (Jay) Nelson, Hazel (Elwood, deceased) Petersen, both Sandy, Alice (Ron) Olsen, Iona, ID. Preceded in death by son, Keith; sister, Velma; brother, Ray.
Services will be Tues. March 27, 2001, 11 a.m. in the Draper 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 12700 S. 1615 E. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Mon. 5-8 p.m. and Tues. at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Draper Cemetery.
