Because a third of 6- to 8-year-olds in Salt Lake County reportedly have untreated tooth decay, the Oral Health Task Force of the Salt Lake Valley Health Department held the Sealant Saturday to help meet the needs of high-risk children. The sealant acts as a barrier to protect teeth from plaque in cavity-prone areas.
