Cable-channel VH1's "Save the Music" program is coming to Salt Lake area schools.
The program is aimed at supporting music programs and raising awareness in the importance of music in education.
AT&T Broadband last week introduced the program and a goal to come up with $100,000 this year for school music programs.
Children learning music show improved performance in reading and math, score higher on standardized tests and are more likely to go to college, according to the Save the Music Foundation.
