Zada Valear Thursby Seeley, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, finished her work here on earth and passed away peacefully Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Lakeview Hospital of natural causes.
Zada was born March 18, 1917 to Angus Thursby and Kate Madsen in Ephriam, Utah. Education and learning were important to her. She put herself through college, graduating with honors as valedictorian at Snow College and later cum laude from Brigham Young Academy. With her teaching degree, she left for the Uintah Basin and taught high school shorthand, English and business at
Alterra High School. There she met her husband, Cloyd D Seeley. On August 1, 1940, they were married in Ephriam and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived briefly in Salina and then made their home in Bountiful, Utah where they raised their family.
Zada loved genealogy and taught herself Danish to enable her to research her ancestors. She was an active member of the Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers and served in various capacities. Service was her purpose in life and she spent her time doing for others and serving the Lord. She loved the Lord and held many church callings; one of her favorite was Visiting Teaching companion with her partner of 40 years, Faye Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cloyd, her brother Kent Thursby, sister Eris Barker and her great-granddaughter
