Obituary: Douglas Vernon Gunn

Douglas Vernon Gunn, 68, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 at his home.

Douglas was born Aug 16, 1932 in Echo, UT to Vernon E. Gunn and Adelia Brewer Gunn. He is remembered for his love of God, love of family, and country, and for his honesty and integrity. Douglas served four years in the U.S. Air Force and two years as a Flight Engineer, which were in French Morocco. He graduated from North Summit High School and Weber State University. He worked with several businesses in financial positions. He married his "love at first sight" companion, Margaret V. Judd in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 27, 1952. Douglas was active in the LDS church and held numerous callings. He enjoyed basketball, football, golf, fishing, and guns.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Craig (Keri), Kaysville; daughter, Lori, Kaysville; one brother, Rod (Mary), Ogden; five grandchildren, Adam, Benjamin, Sarah, Erik, and William Scott. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and brother, Dennis Elwood Gunn.

Services will be Wed. March 28, 2001, 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary of Layton, 250 N. Fairfield Rd, Layton. Friends and family may call Tues. March 27, at the Mortuary 6-8 p.m. and Wed 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville Cemetery.
