Wallace Michael Jensen, age 84, passed away on March 22, 2001 at Rocky Mountain Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah of age related causes.
He was born on March 26, 1916 in Mayfield, Utah to Michael and Martha Cunliffe Jensen and later moved to Salt Lake City where he graduated from South High School. Wally was a Truck Driver for Utah-Arizona Freight Ways, Consolidated Freight-Ways and retired from Milne Freight Lines. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He married Emma Thomas Jensen on April 26, 1938 and their only son, Wallace Michael "Mic" Jensen, Jr. was born in Sept. 1943.
Wally was a loving husband and father extremely devoted to his family, a grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Wally is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emma Thomas Jensen; son and daughter-in-law, Mic and Carolyn Jensen; loving granddaughters, Julie Jensen and Christine Jensen Meiser (Tom) and great-grandson, Samuel Meiser; a brother, Lynn J. Coons of California; and a step-brother, Keith Coons of Salt Lake City; two stepsisters, Dean Dastrup of California; and Gaye Parsons of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Jensen Tadesco, Maude Jensen Christensen and Gladys Jensen Jewett.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2001, 2 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
