Obituary: Dr. L.W. Miltenberger

Dr. L.W. Miltenberger age 71 died in Salt Lake City March 24, 2001.

He was born in Salt Lake City, UT March 3, 1930 to Lewis W. and Alice Miltenber-ger. He married Jeanne Houghton June 22, 1951. Grad-uated University of Utah with B.S. degree 1951 and received a DDS degree from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1956.

He retired from his private practice of dentistry after 33 years.

He had taught as Associate Professor of Anatomy and Assistant Dean of Admissions at Washington University School of Dental Medicine. For 17 years he had taught Gross Anatomy at the University of Utah School of Medicine where he became Clinical Professor and Director of Gross Anatomy. He held in addition this title at Creighton University School of Dentistry. Served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. Former member of the Salt Lake District and Utah State Dental assoc. where he served on their Board of Directors and was vice president of the Salt Lake District. Member of the American Dental Association. Was former member of the Sugarhouse Kiwanis Club where he served as its President in 1965, and as the Lt. Gov. for the district in 1968. He was a former member of the Willow Creek Country Club and served on its Board of Directors. Member of Association of Clinical Anatomists and American

Association of Anatomists.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne, sons W. Mark Miltenberger and wife Eleanor, Eric Miltenberger and partner Julie Smith and grandchildren Erika, Matthew and Heidi; sister Mrs. Judy McKendrick of Salt Lake City, Utah. Preceded in death by daughter Paula Jeanne and son Curt Thomas; parents and brother Edward Miltenberger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday March 28, 2001 at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call Tuesday March 27, 2001 from 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday one half hour prior to service. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
