When you read this, it will mean I have closed my eyes for the last time, March 25, 2001. I am now on a new journey. One we will all experience at some point in time.
I have lived 95 wonderful years, born March 25, 1906 to Ida and Bernard Carlson in Higganum, Conn. We moved to California shortly after I finished Secretarial School in Boston. Father and I opened two Candy factories in California, and they supported us along with my two brothers, Bernard and Fred. We are all together again along with my loving husband Hugh McQueen Thomson who I married in 1940 and left on this same trip five years ago. We have lived in Salt Lake City and Brighton for over 60 years. We hiked, toured by automobile, ship, air and rail. We skied, took photos and movies and met people around the world.
During my lifetime I've met Civil War survivors, experienced the Great Depression, Two World Wars, experienced the advent of Television, Space Travel, Men under the Sea, and man on the Moon. What a full life.
I will miss my wonderful family; My daughter Greta (Bob) Brittain, their daughter and son-in-law, and their son. My son Mac (Penny) Thomson, their two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons.
I've met the world's finest people, and call them all my friends. I'll look forward to a safe trip and will look forward to seeing all at a
future time.
Thanks to you all for the wonderful memories, and your kindness through the years.
