Football Foundation honorees

The 7th Annual National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Utah Chapter banquet was held Wednesday night at UVSC in Orem. The 12 high school athletes that were honored with $1,000 scholarships were: (From back left) Bryant Atkinson (Timpview); Chad Smith (Lehi); Steve Tate (Skyline); Ty Sparrow (Weber); Henry Akalaonu (Mountain Crest); Kade Ence (Juab); Christian Nye (Copper Hills); Brett Burtenshaw (San Juan); (Bottom left) Dane Church (Timpview); Kyle Brunner (Kanab); Chad Lewis (Philadelphia Eagles); Bron Shaheen (Snow Canyon); Garan Fabrizio (Jordan). Other honorees included former BYU coach LaVell Edwards, Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl tight end Chad Lewis, former Millard High coach Lewis Monsen, long-time official Joe Busico and the late sportswriter John Mooney.
