Allen C. Barnes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 28, 2001 after a valiant battle with a serious illness.

Born to Franklin and Hannah Barnes on June 10, 1921 in Lehi, Utah, he served five years in the Army seeing active duty in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

He married Doris Johnson on June 19, 1946 and settled into his life-long career of carpenter, foreman and estimator at Tooele Army Depot where he retired after 33 years of employment. Allen served on the "Old Folks Committee" in American Fork for many years and coached several little league baseball teams through the years. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and in his later years loved and relished the sport of golf.

Father to one daughter, Janeen (John) Elliott of West Jordan, Utah; and two sons, Kim (Connie) of Lehi; and Brent (Shawn) of Bennion; nine grandchildren; five great-grand-children. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers with one sister, Elaine, still living.

Graveside services will be held Sat., March 31, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery under direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi.
