SOUTH JORDAN — A man accused of taking an ex-girlfriend to California against her will was arrested this week.
The man, 35, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a charge of kidnapping.
The incident began March 18 when the man was talking in his car with the woman, 19, who apparently was about to end their relationship, said South Jordan police Sgt. Allen Crist.
The man didn't allow the woman to leave the car and began driving. They ended up in California.
Four days later, the woman was let go, and she bought a plane ticket back to Utah, said Crist. The man was arrested after he drove back.
