SOUTH SALT LAKE — A groundskeeper for an apartment complex was arrested Thursday for investigation of raping a mentally handicapped resident.
The man, 63, went to the woman's apartment to change a light bulb on Monday, said officer Darin Sweeten. The man and woman had a hard time communicating because they did not speak the same language, Sweeten said.
After changing the light bulb, the man raped the woman on her bed, Sweeten said. He then left her $5, Sweeten said.
The woman told a social worker Thursday what had happened. The man was arrested a few hours later, said Sweeten.

The man claimed the sex was consensual, Sweeten said.
