WASHINGTON (AP) — Keith Ausbrook, deputy to independent counsel Robert Ray, is leaving the office that conducted the long-running investigation of the Clintons and will become chief counsel to a House investigative subcommittee, Ray's office announced Friday.

Ausbrook, who is joining the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight and investigations, will be succeeded by Julie Thomas, a veteran federal prosecutor.
